Travelers may be encountering traffic slowdowns on the Golden Gate Bridge on Monday due to protest activity.
As of 12:30 p.m., protesters were making their way across the bridge with the California Highway Patrol occasionally blocking the easternmost lane.
Golden Gate Bridge Public Affairs Manager Paolo Schwartz confirmed the ongoing traffic issues Monday afternoon, adding that the organization was aware of the protest and had planned accordingly.
Schwartz said travelers may see CHP in the lane as the protest continues its march in order to ensure traffic control. He estimates 100-150 marchers were in attendance.
Protesters are part of the “Whose Bridge” Golden Gate Bridge Protest in support of Black Lives Matter.
