The UNG IT Service Desk is the single point of contact for all technology related questions and requests for all students, faculty and staff. The Service Desk is a close-knit team of full-time and student personnel offering friendly and prompt assistance for walk-in service, phone support, email, text messaging, instant messaging, and social media.
In addition to technology support, the IT Service Desk also offers a variety of computer services, from software and hardware diagnostics and installation, to malware and spyware removal. Personal computer services are offered in-person on all of University of North Georgia campuses.
Student Account Activation
In order to activate your UNG Network ID, you must first change the default password from the one provided by Information Technology. To assist you with this process, please visit our Account Activation Portal
IT Maintenance Windows
IT maintenance windows run from 10:30 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. on the following days:
AV Systems: Mon/Tues
Server and Desktop: Wed/Thurs
Network and Telecom: Thurs/Fri
Banner System Maintenance occurs every Sunday.
Emergency and time-critical maintenance or repairs may be performed outside of the normal maintenance windows.
IT does not anticipate the need to use every maintenance window every week, however, it is important to be aware of the time and possible interruption of service.
